Tanja Schildt is the artist name of Tanja Snyers (neé Tanja Schildt). She is a Finnish Music Pedagogue, Master of Arts, concert guitarist and a mother of two small children.

She studied Guitar Performance and graduated from the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Vienna, Austria (Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien), instructed by professor Brigitte Zaczek. She got her degree in music pedagogy at The Helsinki Conservatory as a student of Juan Antonio Muro, passing her teaching exams with highest honors. Tanja learned several excellent teaching methods directly from their developers at the Helsinki Conservatory - one of these methods was the world-famous method Colourstrings. Later, Tanja’s long teaching experience led her to develop a pedagogic philosophy of her own.

In 2009, after more than 20 years of teaching experience, Tanja decided to start her own music school in Vienna, “Musikschule Tanja Schildt – Music School Tanja Schildt”, specializing in teaching children. Tanja enjoys working with children and sees it as a great privilege. She wants to pass on this joy to the children by introducing the world of music to them. She also developes the music pedagogy for children.

Tanja’s vivid artistic imagination and creativity together with the great pleasure in teaching allows her to achieve excellent results also when teaching adults.

Tanja is teaching guitar and early childhood music education in her music school, and is also well known of her international master classes and lectures.
